The owners of this Golden Circle Franchise had been working out of this premises for the past 3 years of which had a very tired and old epoxy floor that had had several coats over the years. We had to grind off 4 to 5 layers of epoxy to expose the aggregate then we sealed it with 2 x coats of poly aspartic of which is a vey hard and durable clear coat. There was 2 main concerns from the shop owner John and that was the coating being able to withstand approx 200 pallet jacks a day running over the floor and the project being completed within 7 days.
We first performed a test area with the poly aspartic and the very next day hundreds of pallet jacks and fork lifts were rolled over the floor proving the product was going to be able to stand the test of time as it passed with flying colours. Our team of eight guys worked out a system for the grinding, crack repair, joint sealing and re coating of the floor and the project was completed a day early in 6 days handing the store back to the owners so they could begin their fitt out. This project was for a large furniture chain ‘Dare Gallery’ where a de fitt of another tenancy took place and they were left with a bare concrete floor to work with and the client wanted to match the floor to their other stores around the country so we performed a very light grind to achieve a salt and pepper look. Because the project was located inside a shopping centre we had to use a low VOC (smell) water based polyurethane sealer that provided a nice glossy finish.
